About
This website documents my attempts to grow avocado trees in the Limousin area of France. It also collects information relevant for others who wish to grow avocado trees in France or other marginal climates (typically USDA zone 8).
I try to make all the information available in both English and French, but my French is not very good, so feel free to send me corrections.

The name “ahuacat” is a combination of the Nahuatl and French words for avocado, “āhuacatl” and “avocat”, respectively. It also happens to be the word for avocados in Nawat, a Nahuan language native to Central America (El Salvador and Nicaragua), but this was not intentional on my part.
